Journal Notes

Week 9

Day 43 – Monday, August 18, 2003

This morning, I finished up most of my presentation so that I will be able to show it to Linda later this afternoon. While waiting to meet with Cornelius, I decided to update this website. I was hoping that Cornelius would be able to point to the areas on the slice that are known as arteries and veins so that I can test them more easily. However, he had told me that I could pick out the points as best as he could. The good advice he gave me though was to try and begin testing on images that were near the end of the set. That way the true test would be to see if the program could trace it back to the heart. So, that is what I will attempt to do for the remainder of this afternoon.

Day 44 – Tuesday, August 19, 2003

Today I basically ran some more tests. I also met with Linda for comments on my presentation, and then worked to make those changes.

Day 45 – Wednesday, August 20, 2003

This morning I spent trying to go through my presentation, but decided not to because it only makes me more nervous. So, instead I ran more tests (none of which are particularly interesting). At 1:30 I headed down towards South Campus Center, which is where the presentations were held. There were 8 different presentations, all of which went well! My presentation can be viewed here: Reconstruction of Blood Vessel Trees.

Day 46 – Thursday, August 21, 2003

I received some bad news this morning and therefore only came in for a few hours. In that time I went through some questions that are needed for the EMILY interface. I also tried to run a few last tests.

Day 47 – Friday, August 22, 2003

Today, I cleaned out my desk since I have 1 week left at the University of Washington. I decided to run a few additional tests, and will now try to work on my documentation and final report.
